Description

A Biblical and Scientific Refutation of "Progressive Creationism" (Billions of Years), As Popularized by Astronomer Hugh Ross Jonathan Sarfati. 2004. Master Books, 411 pages.

This is a very scholarly book from an author who not only understands the theological and scientific issues, but also knows the original Hebrew. The book is focused mainly at the scriptural and scientific biases of Hugh Ross and other "progressive creationists." It also includes brief sections on other compromises, such as the framework hypothesis and the gap theory. Since the day-age theory is part of "progressive creationism," that concept is automatically included in the critique of the latter. Chapters include a thorough analysis of the authority of Scripture, the order of creation, the days of creation, and the big bang theory. In the end, one wonders how Hugh Ross can intellectually maintain his position on science and scripture in the face of such refutations. This book is a must for every creationist engaged in the fight against compromise.
