Members of the CRS are currently assembling
a group of scanning electron images on a CD-ROM for possible
general sale. The profits from the sale of this CD will be used
for fund-raising for the Van Andel Creation Research Center.
The CD will contain the first images of the
newly installed SEM at the center, as well as numerous additional
images, primarily of biological interest (i.e.. insects, pollen
etc.) and geological samples. These are high resolution images
of superb quality, and will be useful for reprinting for display
purposes, talks, and other applications. Most images are 3000
X 2000 pixel images which provide beautiful images when printed
on 8 1/2" X 11" paper. Some images are already false
colored, and the grayscale images can be false colored as desired,
by the user. The number of images will be between 150 and 200,
supplied in a mix of .tif and .jpg formats.
Some sample images can
be found on the CRS website. These are lower quality images,
not meant for general distribution, but will give some idea
of the possible content of the CD.
